Noon Gate Hue Imperial City cleaned by new technology
On March 15th, Hue Monuments Conservation Center and Karcher Group (Germany) – the global leading provider of cleaning technology launched Noon Gate Hue Imperial City Cleaning Project.
The project is under the framework of Karcher cultural sponsorship program which aims to conserve cultural works and historical relics on over the world since 1980. This is the first project to be carried out by Karcher Group in Hue Monuments Complex.
In an attempt to conserve monuments, Karcher Vietnam and experienced experts from Germany cooperated with Hue Monuments Conservation Center to remove biological pollution phenomenon on Noon Gate. As planned, the project will be ran in 15 days.
Accordingly, Karcher applied steam cleaning option of high-pressure cleaning technology. The heating system is capable of releasing steam at the maximum temperature of 100°C (155°C vessel temperature) to completely remove dirt/biological pollution as well as dirt under the surface, or deep inside stones thanks to high temperature water. This will also help slow down the development of harmful biological layers.
In addition to cleaning the Noon Gate, Karcher experts will support, provide technical consultancy for Hue Monuments Conservation Center as well as offer cleaning methods which are suitable for particular subject in Hue Monuments Complex. Besides, Karcher will provide Vietnam with similar cultural support to raise public awareness of conserving cultural and historical relics in Vietnam.
Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of Thua Thien Hue Department of Culture and Sport (Former Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center) kindly informed that nearly-200-year-old monuments in Hue Monuments Complex are being affected by dirt, pollutants as well as other biological development such as types of moss and seedlings. The support of Karcher Group has contributed to renovating the scenery and completing heritage space in Hue Monuments Complex as well as attracting visitors in the future.
